How ScaleX handles your data.

This policy explains what information ScaleX ("we," "us") collects, why, and how it's handled — for merchants who use ScaleX, and for the buyers merchants message through it. ScaleX is a WhatsApp-first order automation service: an AI agent that confirms orders, verifies delivery addresses, and flags risk, on a merchant's behalf.

Information we collect

From merchants who sign up for ScaleX: store name, WhatsApp Business number, email address, region and language, and — if connected — data from a linked store (Shopify, WooCommerce, YouCan) or delivery carrier.

From buyers, on a merchant's behalf: when someone messages a merchant's WhatsApp number, ScaleX processes the phone number, name, delivery address, order details, and message content needed to confirm that order — strictly to provide the service to that merchant, never to build a profile for our own purposes.

Automatically: product usage and event logs (e.g. when an order is confirmed), and standard technical data (IP address, device information) for security and reliability.

How we use it

• To run the order-confirmation conversation and verify delivery details.
• To compute a buyer trust score from delivery outcomes (delivered, refused, no-show) across the ScaleX network. This score is pseudonymized (keyed to a hashed phone number, never a name), used only to flag orders for a merchant's own review, and never shown to or shared with other merchants as raw information — a merchant sees an anonymized count only (e.g. "flagged by other sellers recently"), never who reported it.
• To communicate with merchants about their account and the service.
• To maintain, secure, and improve ScaleX.

WhatsApp Business Platform

ScaleX sends and receives messages through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, acting as a Tech Provider on behalf of each merchant. We process data obtained this way only as reasonably necessary to provide the messaging service you've requested, consistent with WhatsApp's Business and Platform Terms — never to advertise to buyers or resell their data.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers necessary to run ScaleX:

• Our database and infrastructure provider, to store and process the data securely.
• Meta / WhatsApp, to send and receive messages.
• Stripe, to process wallet payments.
• A merchant's chosen delivery carrier, to fulfill confirmed orders.

Data retention

We keep data for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it. Buyer trust-score data is kept in pseudonymized form as described above.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by writing to contact@scalexapp.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time and consistent with the data protection law that applies to you, wherever you're located.

Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect data, including strict access controls so one merchant's data is never visible to another.

Children

ScaleX is a business tool and is not directed at, or knowingly used to collect data from, children.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes here and update the effective date above.
